Bluegrass banjo master and ethnomusicologist, Bill Evans (California), has played with the best - Dry Branch Fire Squad, David Grisman, Peter Rowan - and has now teamed up with six times National Champion fiddler, Megan Lynch (Nashville) to blend tradition and innovation over a wide variety of material. In addition to hot fiddle and banjo duets, Bill and Megan also sing their hearts out on bluegrass, folk, and swing; and they have been doing this in Ireland, Scotland, England and Canada, as well as all over the US.

This is Megan's first visit to Fiddling Cricket, but Bill is no stranger, having appeared with Due West, as well as in his sol show, "Banjo in America", where he covers the 250 year history of the banjo and its many styles. http://www.myspace.com/billevansandmeganlynch

At 6 years old Sharon loved tap dancing and performed through her late teens. Her rhythm progressed right along with her singing harmonies with her guitar slinging older sister. Singing joined rhythm as Sharon grew up and moved west from Maryland . From her musician family to the Smoky Mountains and Colorado the "tiny woman with the big voice" performed in California on various stages, some shared with legends such as, Etta James and B.B. King. As performer joined the muses, Sherry Austin 's friendship in 2002 invited her to synergize all she is and all she does in her down-to-earth style. Sharon 's new CD Along The Way is a testament to her story. Her soul dances into the second half of her life retaining the purity of purpose and integrity of intent that is her music. Local Alt-Country Americana singer/songwriter Jason Lingo will be opening the show. Corinne West

AT MISSION CITY COFFEE ROASTING CO.

2221 The Alameda, Santa Clara, CA 95050
call 831-475-4938 or email Brundle@attglobal.net

Corinne West's voice is both sweet and powerful - almost violently so sometimes. She combines the richness of progressive folk with the backbone of hard country, and the nostalgia of American roots music. Having been on the road since 15 - busking on streets, performing in many varied ensembles - she is finally getting the attention she deserves. Her first solo CD, Bound for the Living, got rave reviews from Sing Out! and other magazines, and earned her a tour of the UK when radio over there started playing it. Her next, Second Sight, was 100% homespun and emotionally powerful. Her third, The Promise, confirms her place amongst the best of America's singer-songwriters. She will be backed by The Posse - a rotating selection of expert pickers. www.corinnewest.com

"a voice to die for with beautifully crafted songs that are memorable both lyrically and melodically", - Colin Hall, R2, RocknReel: The UK's best selling eclectic music magazine

"strong and sincere delivery of intelligent and passionate songs..." - Island Folk Festival, Vancouver
