Atkinson Kincheloe Band

FC Cosponsored Show with
AT DON QUIXOTES MUSIC HALL

6275 Highway 9 in Downtown Felton, call 831-603-2294

When Lisa Atkinson died on May 9th, 2009, the Atkinson Kincheloe Band lost one of the finest singers and songwriters on the planet. Lisa was nationally known and loved, both as a writer of extraordinary songs for children, and as the creator of a body of 'grown-up songs' (her words) that live on in the hearts of anyone lucky enough to have heard them. Since Lisa's passing, the band, Lisa's husband George Kincheloe, a noted singer/songwriter, Marty Atkinson, an incredible writer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist, and Scott Beynon, bassist and vocalist extraordinaire have continued to perform and are nearing completion of a new solo CD by George. Tonight they will be returning to Don Q's stage to celebrate Lisa's life, her songs, and her legacy in a special concert commemorating the first anniversary of Lisa's all too untimely passing. Come out for an evening of acoustic driven harmonies, great original songs, damn fine playing and love . Please visit for more information on Lisa's recorded works, and to read a beautiful eulogy written for Lisa by world-loved fantasy writer Peter S. Beagle. Jay Howlett first established himself as a true storyteller with his 1998 self-titled release. By his third release in 2003, Howlett had become a traveling singer-songwriter whose songs about small town America gained him awards and honors across the country. The classic stories of American life continue with Jay's fourth release, Carnival Lights, providing another look at America at its best. Small town celebrations, traditions, sorrows and sheer frivolity all find their way into Howlett's lens. In this concert Jay will take the first set, accompanied by keyboard player Patrick Feehan, presenting material from his latest, just released, CD, Carnival Lights. In the second set they will be joined by Chuck McCabe (an equally prestigious song-writer) and bassist/guitarist and performing songwriter, Rolfe Wyer, to make up the famed Blah Blah Woof Woof team, a true music co-op that The San Jose Mercury News described as a "Folk Supergroup"
