Monica Pasqual is a founding member of the all-women San Francisco group, Blame Sally, whose popularity and critical acclaim continues to increase with each performance. Monica herself has had a prolific career making music since the mid 90's. In addition to composing and singing lead on much of Blame Sally's material, she has a background in classical piano and composition, which is useful in her side career composing film scores. Her solo recording career preceded Blame Sally with three CDs and a film score. Her most recent CD, released last year, This Cold Desire, and solo performances explore her sense of place, love, war, and dreams in a folk and world music setting.

George and Keith have both appeared for Fiddling Cricket before - George with the Atkinson Kincheloe Band and Keith both solo, and with his band, several times over the years. In this show they team up to swap back and forth and play on each others songs.


George Kincheloe has a long musical history, starting in Boston, moving to LA in 1973, and then on to Northern California in 1977, where he fronted two popular bands (Boardinghouse Reach and Hooligan). In 1992 he met Lisa Atkinson, who appeared on his first solo album. George and Lisa were life and music partners until Lisa's untimely death last year.


Keith Greeninger has won many songwriting awards, the latest being the Telluride Festival Troubadour National Songwriters Contest in 2005. He has released several successful solo CD's and before that was part of the well-loved Santa Cruz group,City Folk. Keith is equally at home with traditional folk and upbeat contemporary material and his live performances range from quiet and sensitive to dynamic and raucous.

David Grier has lived in Nashville since the age of 3 and has been fully immersed in the bluegrass music world since about then. Today, he is regarded as one of the nation's premier acoustic guitarists, along with his early influences, Doc Watson, and Tony Rice.

Recognized by Acoustic Guitar Magazine in 2000 as one of the Artists of the Decade, and named Guitar Player of the Year three times by the International Bluegrass Music Association, Grier has played on four Grammy Award-winning albums, and released four solo albums on Rounder. Grier launched his own label, Dreadnought Recordings, in 1998 and his latest release, Evocative (Dreadnought 2009), featuring 10 original tunes and collaborators Victor Wooten, Paul Franklin, Stuart Duncan and more, has been hailed for its "deep musical introspection" as well as its "unmatchable mastery of the guitar" (Martin Mull).

Del Rey started playing classical guitar when she was four. As a teenager, she met bluesman Sam Chatmon who inspired her to become a blues queen. Her guitar playing combines country blues, stride piano, classic jazz and hillbilly boogie through the sensibility of an autodidact trailor-park esthete. Her live show is full of complex guitar grooves and sly humor. She collaborates and tours frequently with Austin guitarist Steve James and she plays ukulele with Ukeshack . She is featured on Maria Muldaur's cd Sweet Lovin' Old Soul . Rick Shea is a deeply evocative singer and a formidable acoustic and electric guitarist. Growing up where East LA met the desert of San Bernadino, he became immersed in the coffee house folk and the country scenes of that time (1978), playing 7 nights a week as a sideman and singer. Since then he has worked as a multi-instrumental sideman with several well-known groups, most notably touring with, and opening for, Dave Alvin and The Guilty Men for 6 years. He covers a wide range of styles from hard country to traditional folk, all with equal ease and confidence, as demonstrated on his new solo CD, Shelter Valley Blues.http://www.rickshea.net

Laurence Juber is most famous for his 3 years spent recording and touring with Paul McCartney, as the lead guitarist of Wings, when in his 20's (he had already made a successful career as a session guitarist, following a music degree at London University -classical guitar and lute). During that time he won his first Grammy as Best Rock Instrumentalist. When Wings disbanded in 1981 he moved to the US and resumed work as a session musician, recording music for many TV shows and films, including the theme tune for the Bond movie, "The Spy Who Loved Me". He also embarked on a career as a solo artist, composer and arranger, rapidly becoming recognized as a world class fingerstyle virtuoso.

By now Laurence has released 14 acclaimed solo albums, and is forever associated with the Beatles for his years with McCartney and his 2000 album, "LJ plays the Beatles". He also acquired a second Grammy (Best Pop Instrumental) for his arrangement of The Pink Panther Theme on the CD "Henry Mancini - Pink Guitar".

As a young working musician in London , England in the 1970s, Laurence Juber got an extraordinary, life-changing break when Paul McCartney picked him to become Wings' lead guitarist. Juber spent three years recording and touring with the band. During that time he won a Best Rock Instrumental GRAMMY for the track "Rockestra" from the Wings album, Back To The Egg.. After Wings folded in 1981, Juber embarked on a career as a solo artist, composer and arranger, and soon developed a reputation as a world-class guitar virtuoso, being voted #1 by Fingerstyle Guitar magazine. The Bluegrass Intentions are back with their one-of-a-kind blend of traditional bluegrass, old-time, Cajun and blues. A veritable Bay Area Roots music super group, the Bluegrass Intentions are Suzy Thompson on violin and accordion; Eric Thompson on mandolin and guitar; Bill Evans on five-string banjo; Alan Senauke on guitar and mandolin and Markie Sanders on bass. They intend to play bluegrass, but along the way you might hear anything from Muddy Waters song to Cajun dance music or a Bill Evans original banjo tune.

All of the Bluegrass Intentions band members have been active on the international folk, old-time and bluegrass music scenes since the 1960's and 70's, performing with folks like David Grisman, Laurie Lewis, California Cajun Orchestra, High Country, Peter Rowan, and many more. They are rooted in the classic styles and are now seen as traditional music sources themselves, teaching many of the current generation of young bluegrass and old-time virtuosos.

The Red Hot Chachkas' klezmer sound swings, shakes, and serenades. Featuring multi-talented performers on violin, clarinet, mandolin, accordion, bass, and drums, the group plays traditional Eastern European dance tunes, ranging from frenzied freylekhs to tranquil tantsn, with many original compositions, arrangements, and improvisations, building on the klezmer tradition and fusing with a variety of traditional and contemporary musical styles. They are based in the San Francisco Bay Area of California and led by the inspirational violin of Julie Egger. The band has recorded 3 CDs, the latest being "Beats without Borders", in 2010.

The Klezmakers are eight-piece Klezmer band from the San Francisco bay area. Their repertoire encompasses Eastern European dances, Yiddish theater tunes, and traditional Israeli folk songs. They have played twice before at Mission City Coffee, but not in the Fiddling Cricket series.
