Blue Summit combines accomplished instrumental work with powerful vocals and a loose interpretation of traditional bluegrass. The founding members met at bluegrass festivals, which they have been going to since they were toddlers. Through these festivals, they developed their friendships as well as a deep love and understanding of bluegrass music, and of music in general. Taking in elements from bluegrass, western swing, soul, folk, rock, and old time music, this band of friends puts their heart into their music, and has been recognized as the 2018 NCBS Band of the Year. At the head of the group is AJ Lee, songwriter extraordinaire, eight-time winning NCBS Female Vocalist of the Year, and 2018 Mandolin Player of the Year. The rest of Blue Summit's accomplishments can be accredited to the dedication, persistence, and passion of founding members Isaac Cornelius (bass), Jesse Fichman (guitar), and two-time Guitar Player of the Year, Sullivan Tuttle. Blue Summit has played at festivals all around California, including the CBA Father's Day Festival, the Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival, and the Kate Wolf Music Festival. They have recently released their first album, Sweet Company. https://www.bluesummitmusic.com/

Rupert Wates is English (born in London; attended Oxford University), but has been called "a prime figure in American music" (http://acousticmusic.com). A full time musician since the 90's, he came to the US in 2006 after a 5 year stint in Paris, and now splits his time, when not on the road playing (120 performances a year), between NY City and Colorado

Rupert's music is folk with jazz and vauderville/cabaret influences. All 9 of his CDs have received very positive reviews. The quality of his writing is clearly demonstrated by the fact that many other performers cover his material (20 in 2016 alone), including two tribute CD's devoted entirely to his songs. In addition he has twice been voted "artist of the year" by the international house concert network (https://www.concertsinyourhome.com/), and has won over 40 songwriting and performing awards. In 2010 he put together Joe's Cafe, a CD of 15 of his songs, each performed by a different vocalist, tracing the story of the US and the American people through two world wars, the depression, Vietnam, and the Civil Rights movement. It has been presented successfully at festivals ever since. https://rupertwatesmusic.com/home

"Narrative storytelling is superb - even by the highest folk music standards"…..Orlando Sentinel

Local ace lap steel player, Patti Maxine, won her first steel championship some 60+ years ago! She collaborates with a wide variety of musicians and is a major force in Western Swing, Hawaiian, and Americana music. She is also no slouch on guitar and as a vocalist, and is always in demand to accompany others from the young to "very seasoned". www.pattimaxine.com

Che Apalache is a four-man string band based in Buenos Aires with members from Argentina, Mexico and the United States. The group's founder is Joe Troop (fiddle), a North Carolinian multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and composer who moved to Argentina in 2010. While patiently carving out a niche in the local music scene, Joe taught bluegrass and old-time music for a living. That's how he met Pau Barjau (banjo), Franco Martino (guitar) and Martin Bobrik (mandolin), his most dedicated students. They quickly became picking buddies and in 2013 decided to hit the stage. http://www.cheapalache.com
