Gabrielle Louise, originally from Denver and a graduate of the Berklee School of Music in Boston, is a nationally touring troubadour in the Americana/folk style. She is an excellent guitarist (not a strummer), writes roots music with an original flavor and pop appeal, and has a voice that ranges from poignant, to lush, big musical production, and sultry tinged jazz. Here she will play solo, but often plays in a band setting.

Gabby has released 5 independent CD's, won several songwriting competitions and is as committed to the environment as to her music. She often travels in "the Veggie Van", using discarded restaurant grease as fuel. She has also worked as a rafting guide on the Arkansas River. Recently she developed a strong interest in Tango, both playing and dancing and is just back from a trip to Argentina.

" …..Though young and beautiful, …her pop/country blend is distinctly adult-contemporary. Lovers of folk music will appreciate Louise's voice, which she uses with equal success on stunning high notes and rumbling lows" - The Gazette (Colorado Springs, CO)

Montana Skies, Jonathon and Jennifer Adams from Georgia, are an electrifying live concert experience: a duo with the full spectrum of an orchestra crossed with the energy of a rock band. Montana Skies creates a sound much bigger than any two instruments should rightfully produce. By fusing traditional sounds with new technology, they generate music with multiple layers, textures and rhythm...and it's all created live! In concert the duo delves into music from Pink Floyd to Vivaldi, as well as their own, award winning, originals that have been featured everywhere from NPR to the Travel Channel. Montana Skies' touring has taken them all across the US, Canada and to Asia and Russia. Jennifer plays cello and six-string electric cello. Jonathan plays Spanish/classical guitar, and steel string guitar. While the music defies simple categorization, it is a fusion in the truest sense of the word. It's been called everything from chamber rock to psychedelic strings, but its certainly not your granny's chamber music! www.montanaskiesmusic.com

Carolyn Sills moved to Santa Cruz from New York 3 or 4 years ago. The Big Apple's loss is definitely our gain! In NY she played with country/rockabilly outfits and sang jazz with the likes of Les Paul. Here Santa Cruz immediately took Carolyn to its heart, whether in her Patsy Cline Spectacular shows, or recreating the sultry torch vocals of the 40's and 50's, or in her Santa is Real sold out show last Christmas.

It's an honor to have her and her red hot quartet (Gerard Egan, guitar; Charlie Wallace, lap steel; Jerry Logan, bass) play in our Wednesday Acoustic series at the Mug, where they will mix jazz standards, pop, and western swing covers with originals in those styles.

" ……her vocals resonate with a throaty anguish, torch songs straight from the heart…conjures up a misty past of dim juke joints and neon lit roadhouses…. The effect is mesmerizing" - Michael Dregni, Vintage Guitar Magazine
