The Greencards
Bluegrass and Americana from Australia and England
Friday, March 2nd, 8.00pm $14 adv /$16 door
under 21 accompanied by parent
AT DON QUIXOTES MUSIC HALL
6275 Highway 9 in Downtown Felton, call 831-603-2294The Greencards are determined to make history, not just repeat it. They're off to a good start. Though they're steeped in the tradition of bluegrass, The Greencards weave influences as disparate as Bob Dylan, Ricky Skaggs and The Beatles into a compelling new brand of acoustic music. They honor the past, but refuse to live in it. That's why they continue to push at the boundaries of bluegrass and Americana music. Texas music legend Robert Earl Keen says of their music, It's the best bluegrass I've heard in 20 years. The Greencards rapid rise to the top of the acoustic scene has been as natural and organic as the music they make . Kym Warner (mandolin), Carol Young (bass), Eamon McLoughlin (fiddle) are the Greencards. www.thegreencards.com

Richard Gilewitz
Monday, March 12th, 8.00pm $10 adv./$12 door
under 21 accompanied by parent
AT DON QUIXOTES MUSIC HALL
6275 Highway 9 in Downtown Felton, call 831-603-2294Named as one of the Men of Steel by Fingerstyle Guitar Magazine, Richard Gilewitz fascinates his audiences with fingerstyle gymnastics while spinning yarns too unbelievable not to be true. Spanning across the musical genre of blues, folk, classical, traditional, and rock, Gilewitz's ability to make one guitar sound like an entire orchestra stems from 33 years of well-honed technique and 25 years of on the road worldwide touring, creating his own signature sound that has been captured on his six releases, DVDs, and songbooks. But it is his live shows that bring out the best in this author, composer, guitarist, storyteller, and humorist who follows a distinct cadence that creates a glow that continually grows a little brighter with each tune. Playing solo concerts, conducting guitar seminars and school programs, or years of sharing the stage with folks such as The California Guitar Trio, John McCutcheon, John Renbourn, Mose Allison, the late John Fahey, Leo Kottke, Norman Blake, Indigo Girls, John Hammond, Rory Block, or Jane Siberry, Richard Gilewitz always creates a sparkle of mood mastery and wonderment.http://richardgilewitz.com
Richard Gilewitz is possibly one of the strangest men in acoustic music today. Much of the charm of a Gilewitz performance is in the stories he tells. -Spectrum
Gilewitz's own compositions stand beside those by Elizabeth Cotton, John Fahey and J.S. Bach for an entertaining set that is testament to the Floridian's phenomenal talents. -Curtis Ross, The Tampa Tribune
Richard Gilewitz 's playing is faultless, the production as clear as a pinged champagne glass. -SeeLife Magazine, Brighton UK
